American funk group Vulfpeck makes their ONLY Midwest appearance this year at North Coast Music Festival on Saturday, September 1st!
Previously having played North Coast in 2016, and a few shows at The Metro in Chicago last year, Vulfpeck makes very few stops to the Midwest, though they consistently throw killer, sold out shows each time. Their ability to get the crowd up, moving, and grooving is unmatched.
Vulf Records mysteriously released an EP under The Fearless Flyers recently, which is mixed, produced and composed by Vulfmon himself (Jack Stratton, band leader/multi-instrumentalist of Vulfpeck). The new band is also comprised of Vulfpeck bassist Joe Dart, guitarist Cory Wong, drummer Nate Smith, and Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri, generating a huge response to the funky-fresh releases.
Vulfpeck is a band that refuses to play by the rules. They will maintain their strength through perfection and consistency, they will not cheapen their own product, and they do not need to overplay. They will continue to release new music every year, and they will continue to do what they want, independently. If you’re looking for a good time, Vulfpeck is not a set to miss!
As one of the many collaborative tracks from the album Mr. Finish Line, “Captain Hook” features legendary bassist Bootsy Collins (James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic), Baby Theo (a character voice from Theo Katzman), and Mushy Kay on vocals. The three voices come together in perhaps the silliest song from the album, though the video only accounts for the instrumental recording of the track.
Listen to Mr. Finish Line here! See you at North Coast Sat. 9/1!
